Personal Statement
For my soccer career, I had the gift and frustration to only start my senior year at goalkeeper after sitting and learning for three. Even though before this season I had almost zero game experience, I had the opportunity to mold my raw talent with some great coaches and mentors to be ready to go the year I had the chance. Not many people can go from starting zero games to making the first state playoff appearance in program history, tied for most shut outs in a regular season (11) and tied for least goals against as a team in regular season (13) all in 15 regular games because of covid-19 limitations. Although I do have to add it was 100% because of my stud teammates efforts, I just contributed what I could. It takes great fortitude, commitment, and character to know your place, and grind to be successful every single day. That is something that coaches look for and I believe I meet those marks. In terms of collegiate and future plans, I will only pursue and attend schools with a designated Marine ROTC unit to pursue my bachelors to commission as a Marine Corps officer. The character, strength, and drive is needed everyday for that role, and is an opportunity I would love to take. I look forward to hopefully leaving my mark as a driven goalkeeper, whether it be on the pitch, in the classroom, or serving our country.
