My parents have provided a firm foundation of core values. One core value is talent is not enough. Hard work and discipline is what enhances your gift. I apply this core value to my academic and athletic goals. I was exposed to several sports as a young person, but it was during elementary school recess while playing soccer I felt a connection to the ball and the sport. I have been devoted ever since. I have learned discipline, dedication, perseverance, and the importance of communication as a soccer player.
My academic goal is to maintain above a 3.5 GPA and be recruited to a top college soccer program. I joined club soccer much later than most of my peers. I pursued club soccer as a walk on and ultimately earned the striker position. I had to earn the respect from my club team, which I accomplished. I currently serve as striker as a senior at Salisbury boarding school in Connecticut. Last season my varsity soccer coach presented me with the "Perserverance" award. Notably, I was the highest scorer on my team. I scored seven goals in three games. What makes me stand out from other players is that I am coachable, listen and retain instructions, am versatile, and I am a natural born leader. I take initiative as a leader and my ability to see the field allows me to create opportunities for myself and my teammates.
