Personal Statement

 Hello Coach!

My name is Joao Kabbad, a 2020 graduate from St. John Paul High School at Corpus Christi, Texas .

I am an exchange Student from Brazil, and I would like to continue to study and play soccer in the United States.

Since I was 7 years old I was very active, energetic, so my parents decided to put me into some sport, so from that age I started playing soccer at school in Brazil, just for fun but this sport became my favorite sport in the world. I started take it not just as a time to run or have fun with my friends, I started take it as a part of my future, I started to play for a club (Santos FC) with 11 years old during that period I won differents tournaments, but my parents had a bigger destination for me they wanted sent me to out of country to study and play soccer. Here I am looking for some opportunity to play soccer at college, because unfortunately today in my county I don’t have the same opportunity that I have here.

Thank you!

Awards and Activities

  • ActivitiesWhen I was sophomore in Brazil my school gave us as students a possibility to do a course of Entrepreneurship. It took 15 hours of course to understand and see how an entrepreneur thinks and how they can realize an opportunity in the middle of a tough time. It was a good experience because I learned different things that I didn't know about and I got a certification at the end of the course. Social Work - Unfortunately, in Brazil we have some kids that are living in poverty, and most of these kids have a commun dream, to become a soccer player one day. So in my city we have a organization called BMBG that is responsible to help homeless kids and poor kids with soccer practice and try to take the kids away from drugs. This organization does not have a lot of money so when I always have the opportunity me and my family we donate soccer stuff to them as cleats, balls, nets.
