DeSean Richie '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is DeSean Richie, and I am a future 2026 graduate of Heritage High School in Lynchburg, Virginia. I began playing soccer at the age of five and I knew at an early age this was going to be my sport for the rest of my life. I'm currently taking four honors classes: Advanced Algebra 2, Biology, World Literature, and World History/ Geography.

I have played travel club soccer with steady division advancement since my fifth-grade year and have always been versatile. I have played most frequently as a forward/striker but also attacking midfielder and center-back. I feel comfortable wherever I am placed on the field. I played 6^th-8th grade for my Junior Varsity squad as a forward.

My past coaches' evaluations have told me that I am a very possession-based player with outstanding field awareness and make good decisions on and off the ball. My speed on the field often out measures both teammates and opponents.

My goal is to play at the collegiate level and beyond while receiving the best education available. I am a leader with strong morals and values both on and off the field. I am confident my leadership skills and selfless play would make me the ideal candidate for any team. I am a quick decision-maker and excellent communicator, and my coaches consistently evaluate me as "highly coachable" and a team leader. Most importantly, I enjoy helping others and looking for ways to continually improve my game and help others do the same.
