Personal Statement

I am Bobby Gaertig.  I have just completed my final high school season, and I met every goal that I set for myself.  My team took 1st place at State where as an outside mid, I scored both goals in our 2-0 victory against a team that had not allowed a goal throughout the playoffs.  Because of my performance I was named Wisconsin Athlete of the Week on wissports.net.  I received State recognition on the Best of The Rest list of midfielders, which names the top players in the State.  I have been a defender my whole life, until this season when my coach asked me to play outside mid.  I rose to the challenge, I led my team in goals, and I was named Conference Offensive Player of the Year (after being Defensive Player of the Year last season).  I think this shows that I am an all-around player.  I was also named All-County Player of the Year.   As a captain, I was a leader and a big part of the reason that my team succeeded.  I work as hard as I can at every practice, and a teammate gave this quote:  "Bobby elevates the game of everyone around him."  I am looking forward to my club soccer season, I have high expectations for this team too.  I attend a rigorous college-prep high school, which is preparing me for the academic demands of college.  I work on my soccer skills every day and I know I have what it takes to play at the next level.  I can't imagine my life without the sport.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
