Ever since I can remember, I loved to watch and play the sport of soccer because of the beauty found in its simplicity. Playing soccer has always given me a sense of joy. I have grown as a soccer player and person playing year-round club soccer since I was seven years old, and have also learned to persevere through difficulties and injuries to continue my journey to play the game I love at the next level.
I had the unique opportunity to try out and then form a part of Marcet's Professional Eurofootball Program as a ninth grader, training for 10 months in Barcelona and competing with first and second division youth squads from the Spanish professional league. Being away from my family at this age for such an extended period of time was very difficult but taught me how to adapt to a new environment including culture and language and persevere through challenges I faced. In terms of learning about soccer through practicing and playing league games in Spain, I learned about professional level team play involving very quick and flowing ball movement, each player having high soccer IQ, and playing under high pressure without time to think.
Now in the US, I am a varsity soccer player for my college prep high school and play soccer with a top club from the state of Wisconsin. I am dedicated to my studies to excel academically as well.
As I look to university, I want to attend a university of excellence both from an academic and sports perspective where I can be enriched by the community and contribute by enriching it in return.
