Hi Coaches, my name is Jacob Anderson. I started attending Waukesha West High School this last year.
I’ve played in the MLSNEXT since the start of the league. First traveling down from Milwaukee, 4-5 days a week, to play at SockersFC Chicago for two years. When clubs in my home state joined the league, I moved back to play as a Futures to prepare and gain chemistry with a team for the following year.
I gravitate towards defense, being able to play positions 2-6 extremely well. I really enjoy being free to run the length of the field to cross the ball and have recorded quite a few assists that way. With my height, I’m always called up on dead ball plays for header opportunities. Depending on formation, I’ve been moved up to play wing to beat defenders off the dribble and serve the ball across the goal. I have a very strong throw in, depending on the field size the ball can reach the spot or near post at head height.
Additionally, I’m an avid futsal player. Having the opportunity to play under former US Futsal National team coaches and players. I’ve also trained with the current US Men’s National Team coach Dusan Jakica and professional Brazilian futsal players. Futsal has given me confidence and ball skills developed in a smaller faster moving game that can be seen in my outdoor game.
I’m looking for an opportunity to continue to play and develop my soccer game at a high level. Soccer isn’t the only factor for me when choosing a school though. In addition to working hard on the field and court, I work hard in the classroom. I spent two years leaving school early to travel to Chicago, that has made me focused and driven to finish my work and finish it well, otherwise I wouldn’t have been traveling 4 hours per day for practice. History, Teaching, Sports Medicine, and Sports Training are areas Im interested in studying at University.
