There are three reasons that I want to become an elite swimmer.
First, I'm passionate about the discipline, relentless determination, and consistent focus required to achieve success. Swimming demands both an attention to detail and a willingness to overcome challenges for which I am well-equipped mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Second, I love my teammates. Standing at the edge of the pool cheering on my friends and teammates, yelling at the top of my lungs, walking the length of the pool as my teammates swim the final leg of an event. Success in swimming is as much about how well I perform as it is about how well the team performs.
Finally, I constantly seek ways to get better. I watch videos of championship swimmers, I proactively seek feedback from my coaches, I watch videos of my events to identify strategies that will help me be a stronger athlete, and I read about high-performance swimmers to understand what it takes to be successful. I realize as a swimmer who wants to take it to the next level, I must remain humble and find ways to constantly improve so that I am able to achieve my goals.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the exclusive athletic recruiting network that educates, assists, and connects, families, coaches and companies so they can save time and money, get ahead and give back.
NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
