My name is Luke Oland and I am a sophomore at DeKalb High School. I've had a passion for swimming for as long as I can remember, and relish having the opportunity to swim every single day. I think the dual aspect of swimming is what makes me enjoy it so much. I'm able to be part of a team as well as striving individually to continually improve. I love sprinting as well as competing on relays, and also enjoy improving my secondary events. I like to encouage and have fun with my teammates, and give my all in the pool each practice and meet. I want to be on a great college team and set very high goals, like swimming on a D1 team and making Olympic trials in 2028. While I'm committed to my time in the pool, I take pride in my academic ability and hold myself to high standards. I am able to balance taking honors and AP classes, church committments, and spending time with my family and friends. Overall, I would be an strong asset for your team as student athlete that values hard work, sportsmanship, and humility.
