Hello my name is Owen Miska, I am a 17 year old junior from Minneapolis, Minnesota and am currently attending St. Anthony Village High School. I have been swimming competitively since I was 9 years and have been competing at the high school level for the last 5 years. My goals for my collegiate career are to become the best person and student athlete that I can become whether that be through swimming or helping people for those in need. Why I believe that I would make a good candidate for your team is through the hard work that I will bring in the pool and through the efforts that I will have in the classroom by keeping my grades up and making sure my assignments are on time and completed thoroughly up to the standards that my teachers will want. The character that makes myself a candidate for what your team morals is things I have learned from my baseball coach who put this into an acronym we call F.I.S.T., Fun: making sure that everyone is having fun whether that be my teammates, coaches, or myself; Integrity, making sure that myself and my teammates are respectful to the officials, opposing team and ourselves; Student of The Game; going the extra mile to improve myself, evaluating the performances that I have done in the past and present, and looking for ways that I can improve, and Teammate; being a good teammate means having responsibility for myself and having the will to learn how to grow and accept the feedback that is given to me whether I agree with it or not.
