Janmel Torres DeLeon '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Janmel O. Torres De Leon and I am now a senior at Harker Heights High School who is getting ready for his next step in life. A  little about me, I am a 17 year old young man who has been in sports throughout my life such as, Karate, Softball, Soccer , and Football.  In addition, I was in the NJHS (National Junior Honor Society) for two years and I am on path to have a Veterinarian Assistant Degree out of High School. In regards to swimming, since I was about 8 years old  I developed a passion for swimming. However, due to my father being in the military we had to move several times and  It wasn't until my fall semester of my freshman year that I was able to join the swim team of Shoemaker Highschool. As my passion for swimming grew and I saw room for improvement so me and my family decided to join Harker Heights High School for a better education and a better Coach that would help me improve my skills. Since then I've been swimming for 2 years total and I have dedicated myself to this sport so I can be the best swimmer I can be. In 2019 I also joined one of the best swim teams in my UIL district in which I practice with during the afternoons in their after school program and during summer.  I am currently working hard on my PR in order for me to amplify my opportunities and get the best offer that will allow me to be the swimmer and veterinarian that I want to become.
