My ultimate goal is to swim at the collegiate level. I would be thrilled to attend any college that could offer me a challenging educational experience along with a competitive swimming experience. I have always believed that my education should be my primary focus with sports being a huge bonus for me!
My ability to be a 3 sport athlete and maintain a strong academic standing proves my dedication and strong work ethic. Swimming is one of the hardest sports you can play, not only physically but mentally as well. My 8 years of swimming have taught me to push through the pain and exhaustion and to give each race 100%. It has taught me that perseverance will get me through even the most daunting sets at practice.
My coaches always look to me as a role model for the teams I have played on. As one coach commented this year, “I don’t ever worry about you because I know you will always give me 110%!” I strive to be a leader on and off the field. Though captains are reserved only for seniors on my swim team, the team looked upon me for guidance and assistance and voted me MVP for 2015. As a freshman I was selected to be on our school’s A-Team, which is a team comprised of student athletes with strong leadership skills. I was also selected by my coach and teammates to be captain of my JV soccer team as a freshman. As a team leader I bring enthusiasm, respect of all players and the ability to motivate those who lack the hustle or good attitude needed. It is crucial that everyone on the team give their all and a good leader will help that happen.
With my drive, focus and leadership abilities, I feel I am able to accomplish all of my dreams. If I get knocked down in my journey, I will not hang up my goggles and cap and go home. I will push harder and harder until I achieve all that I set out to achieve.
