My name is Christopher Maderitz and I will be a senior at Central York High School in York, Pa. I started playing tennis at age 13 and have advanced quickly in the sport. As a freshman in high school I played #5 seed and as a sophomore I moved up to the #2 seed. I made it to the quarterfinals of counties in singles. In doubles my partner and I made the county final and we were named to the Division 1 All-Star team. Our team also finished in 4th place in the district. As a junior this year I am the #1 seed for singles and doubles for my high school team and was named to the Division 1 All-Star team. I also play and do clinics at my local tennis club and have moved up from the Junior leagues to playing in the adult leagues at our club. I also play in USTA tournaments and play in USTA leagues in my local area.
For my senior year I will be taking a rigorous academic curriculum which includes Honor classes. I am also preparing for my SAT and ACT tests which I plan to take for the second time in the fall of 2015. I would like to improve my grade point average and to continue taking honor classes. Academics are very important to me and will play a key role in my college decision.
As a very dedicated and hard working person I know I can be an asset to any college team. I play and practice hard and usually play 5-6 times a week. This summer I have been playing 3-4 hours a day and I plan on continuing to do clinics, leagues, lessons and camps over the summer to improve my game. I have no problem making friends and am easy to get along with. I also enjoy tennis so much that this past summer I have helped teach junior clinics at my local country club and have also given private lessons to young students who are just learning the game.
