I've always had a competitive nature. Going into high school, I had to find a way to channel my competitiveness, so I decided to join the track team. I showed up to the first race, didn't even know how to use blocks, but I realized how much I loved sprinting. Every race since the first race, I have continually improved and gotten better every week. Track is what taught me that practice isn't against you. The only thing that will decide how fast you run, is how much work you are willing to put in. I've seen this week after week working hard and watching my times drop each week. My favorite events are the 100 and 200, but I also love running the 400 and 4x400 relay. I really enjoy the team aspect of track, and love running both relays, and cheering for my teammates in all events. I want to major in business and I'm interested in becoming an officer in the military. I believe that service to others is an important part of my life and I believe that God has called me to make a difference in the world.
