I have been committed to running since my Freshman year of High School. My goal for high school is to not only lead my team to a championship, but to personally get faster and become a smarter racer. My dad has had a life-long passion for running, so I feel like I have the best of both worlds with support in all I do and the extra training and insight he brings to my running development.
My hope is to run all 4 years of college with a group of guys that will mentor and encourage me as well as challenge me. I not only want to contribute to a team, but also in the development of my teammates. My main goal is constantly get better and do whatever I have to, in order to achieve that.
This year I was honored with the 'Grizzly Award', which is my high school's award for character. It made me realize that the hard work and commitment that I have acquired through my training has spread to other areas of my life at school and in my community. I have found a passion for mentoring and training new runners on my team and that has led me to consider a career in teaching or training.
As a junior, my coaches have given me the honor of leading both the Men's Cross Country and Track & Field Teams - I take that seriously and am committed to making both the best they can possible be.
