Personal Statement
My collegiate goals on the track are to just keep improving and become the best that I can be. I am relatively new to the sport and still do not really understand where my own potential is, so I just want to keep improving day by day and continue striving to be the best that I can be. I think I am a very well rounded athlete, I plan on participating in the decathalon next year and have my sights on qualifying for new balance nationals. In my only full season of track I competed in the 55m, 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m sprints in addition to Long, High and Triple jump, and 300M Hurdles. I think I can bring this jack of all trades quality to what ever team I am lucky enough to be on, or I can relentlessly focus on being as best I can at what ever event I need to in order to help the team. I previously have been part of my schools varsity baseball and football teams and take the experiences and leadership qualities I have accumulated from those two sports to the track. I tend to obsess over things and I always strive to be the absolute best I can be in what ever particular area I focus on. I think what separates me from others is my passion and my work ethic. I do not just work hard at practice but I am activley researching technique and drills to improve at home and in my study halls every day and have an active role in creating the practice plan for jumpers because of the knowledge I have started to accumulate. I take the same passion from the run way and track into the weightroom and classroom, in addition to making sure I eat right and take care of my body to make sure I am always at peak performance. I don’t think many other athletes are “in as deep” as I am, Despite this being my first full year involved in the sport. I also have a 3.7 GPA, am enrolled in all honors and AP courses at my highschool, and got a 1210 on my first SAT.
