I have a passion to make a difference in all activities in which I engage and a desire to give back and benefit our communities especially during these uncertain times. I hope to influence fellow runner athletes and advocate for people who are faced with challenges that may seem like barriers to achieving their goals. I can personally relate to this. I want to encourage others that we cannot enable challenges and adversities define who we are as a person, as an athlete and as a member of our communities. Rather, we must overcome our challenges and adversities and use those experiences to pay it forward always. I believe that furthering my education in College while strengthening my discipline to excel in Cross Country and Track will open opportunities to achieve my goals.
I have a passion to run. I currently hold all-time records at South Elgin High School as I have our 2- mile school record at 9:59 as well a conference title for this event, and being the first boy ever in school history to make it to cross country state. As my training progressed, I have been taking almost every age group record for every distance event and I hope to increase my performance by the end of my senior year. I have achieved awards and have won races as an independent long distance runner. Running is life and it has enabled me to network with others on a nationwide scale and has opened windows of opportunities for me to pursue higher education beyond high school. I would like to give back to the running community. I am looking forward to the upcoming races. I have the abilities and skills to lead, support and advise my peers to engage in the communities. I currently hold the position of President of the Junior Board of Let's Move Elgin and captain of the South Elgin Cross Country Male Team. I have demonstrated my ability to lead by example, passion, a competitive drive to excel and do well academically and in sports.
As a high honors student, BEACON Academy student, varsity athlete and while working in the talent industry, I have demonstrated that I am organized, manage time well and can perform as a leader and team member. I am coach-able. I respect those who have journey before me in this path of education and athletics. I have proven my confidence as a leader while also maintaining sportsmanship by listening, acknowledging and respecting the opinions of all others and yet recognizing when I should express my own.
I would be honored to further my education in college while given the opportunity to represent the institution in Cross Country and Track. Thank you for your consideration.
