Anyone that knows me, knows that I am passionate about running. Since elementary school in Louisville, KY, I have been on my school’s Cross Country teams. I’ve had the chance to play other sports and excel in them as well, but running continues to be the one that captures my drive and ambitions the most. As a collegiate athlete, I intend to bring my current level of performance, positive mental attitude and personal leadership skills to my new team. I anticipate finding a coaching environment, that will train me to accomplish personal milestones beyond my comprehension.
As a Cross Country runner, I am a top 5 runner on my team. My team has qualified for IHSAA Regionals Meet 3 years in a row. Most recently, we were the first to qualify for Semi State in our school’s history. During my indoor track seasons, my team has qualified for IHSAA Indoor State Meet for 3 years in a row. We compete in the 4x800m Relay and in the Distance Medley Relay. For Outdoor Track seasons I compete in the 1600m Run and the 800m Run.
I currently live in a small rural community outside of Indianapolis, Indiana, along with my father, mother, and 4 younger siblings. Two of them are adopted through foster care and the baby is a current foster-to-adopt placement. I am actively involved in my local church and was recently selected to be a student leader for our school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In the summer, along with working for a general contractor installing fences, I volunteer my time as a camp counselor. My community knows me for the positive contributions I make in these venues, as well as, being counted on to step up when others need help.
My current goals are to obtain a degree in Education, to teach Mathematics and coach a High School Cross Country team. Finding a college environment that will challenge me academically is important, as I currently seek out AP and Dual Credit courses. I am also looking for a culture that is consistent with my values established by my family and faith. You will find me to be dedicated to achieving these goals and contributing in significant ways to the team and the school that I am a part of.
