I wish to continue pursuing my track career on the collegiate level. Track is an integral part of my life and I want to bring it with me into this exciting and challenging new chapter. I grew up on Long Island and tried out for the varsity track team in 7th grade. Since I was in middle school, I had to take the "maturity test" to prove I could compete at the high school level. I spent the summer before the physical test training to ensure my success. I passed and made the Varsity Track team. At the end of the season, I was awarded "rookie of the season" for both the Winter and Spring season, beating out older high school students.
My new challenge was introduced at the end of my freshman year, to go to the New Balance Nationals. I've worked as hard as i can to continue improving. I've broken two school records which were the 4x100m relay and the Sprint Medley Relay with the help of my peers. I am currently a hundredth of a second from breaking the 55m school record and 1 second from breaking the 300m record. In addition, my current goal is to break the 200m record this season because I'm only 1.2 seconds away from it and i went to NY state qualifier meet for that event last spring.
I am currently only a sophomore and I am going to work hard the next two years to continue to get better times and compete at the highest level possible.
