The very first time I threw a javelin in a meet, I broke the Middle School record. That was in 6th grade. Since then, I have participated in school and club track. The idea of continuing to throw after high school was something that I entertained but became a passion after I placed 6th in the USATF National Junior Olympics and became Amity Track Club's 2nd All American. I am now very motivated to continue throwing at the collegiate level.
This year, my high school goal is to break the school record in Javelin (167'7") as a Sophomore. I am Team Captain for the Boy's Throwing team. One of my favorite things about Track and Field is the sense of family. The throwing team is really close. Some of my best friends throw with me and being their Captain is so rewarding when everyone is achieving their goals.
After placing at the 3A State meet, my goal is to then place in the top 3 of Nationals in July with my club team.
As for my academics, I am taking as many Honors/AP/Weighted classes that I can fit into my schedule. This will better prepare me for college level classes and give me the best GPA that I can achieve. This year, I have been inducted into the National Honor Society and I am the Sophomore Class Vice President.
