Running has been my passion since I was 12 years old. I have been running competitively ever since. I resided in India back then, in the state of Gujarat. I was always recognized by everyone because of my speed and the next thing I knew was I was beating everyone from freshmen to seniors when I was a freshman myself. Since then I have been running competitively. I have had my troubles finding a good coach and sticking up with the training routine so I have been on my own 90% of the time since the beginning. I used to dig up any and every little piece of information on the internet that could make me faster and improve my techniques on track. I have been working day and night on some goals that I have and most likely am planning to achieve them before I graduate as I intend to go to a D1 track program where I can find a great coach who can finally help me and guide me trough this journey. I shaved up to 2 seconds in the 100m and 4 seconds in the 200m since I was 12 just by being on my own without any conditioning or training from an experienced coach. I was having some tough times, since I moved here on 3rd of May 2016, i.e adjusting to the new environment and moving schools 2 times in 2 years. I could never find consistency so I have worked on myself pretty much and plan to break the school records of 10.7 seconds and 21.8 seconds in the 100m and 200m, respectively, before I graduate. If I can do that I can show coaches that I'm worthy of being in a Division 1 program because if I worked on myself, without having anyone by side to coach me or walk all the way through, and achieved some realistic progress then there won't be any limitations on me when I have someone who is experienced, can help improve my performance and guide me to becoming a better athlete.
As for my qualities that make me different than other recruits are: I have the potential to improve and push myself to the limit and beyond because of the vision that I have (to break the school records and make it to D1 program) on my own, I can work with anyone who is experienced and knows a lot more about the sport as compared to me, I tend to be a leader from a personality perspective, I have a strong positive mindset and tend to inspire everyone one around me to work hard and dream big because anyone can make it if they put in enough hard work and dedication towards their goals, I'm a strong competitor and believe that the only way I can lose is if I quit and quitting is no longer an option because I'm just that hungry for success, I tend to respect everyone around me no matter who they are, no matter how they treat me, and overall I'm just a really hardworking person trying to achieve my goals and make it to a college that is a perfect fit for me, since I always dreamed of becoming a pro and attending a Division 1 college would help me get closer to all my dreams and help me achieve my goals (of becoming an elite athlete). I am ready to work as hard as I possibly can till my body completely gives up, to compete for a Division 1 program.
The ultimate goal is to represent this idea of anyone can make it through tough situations no matter who they are, no matter where they come from, no matter what the circumstances are, no matter how big their dreams are, if they are willing to learn, grow, work hard, and dedicate themselves to achieving their goals. I want to show the people in my family and my friend circle what's possible in life. I want to live at my fullest potential and become a symbol of inspiration and I'm willing to do anything to climb this ladder of success.
