Sergio Rodriguez '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, Recruiters.

My name is Sergio L. Rodriguez III.  I am currently a freshman at John B. Alexander High School in Laredo, Tx.  I currently run on the cross country team, played on the Freshman basketball team and currently run on the JV and Varsity track team.  On the track team I am currently running the 1600m and 3200m.  Starting my sophomore year I will only concentrate on running.  I will no longer participate in other sports.  

I can honestly say that I didn't think running would become my favorite sport.  I always played basketball primarily and football.  But in 8th grade I tried out for the Cross Country team and I fell in love with the sport.  I did not even think I would be good at it but the more I ran and the more encouragement I received from my coaches and parents I knew this was for me.  Since then I have concentrated on running.

In me you will find an athlete that is dedicated, committed and hard working.  I am not afraid of the work that needs to be done.  I enjoy the grind that comes with practice.  I continue to have that hunger to keep getting better and enjoy being part of a team.  Finding the right school and coaches who give me an opportunity and support will get an athlete who will give 150% and anything extra that I may have.

I look forward to the future and continuing to run and just get better, faster and stronger.
