I would like to have a track scholarship to help me attain a Bachelors degree. My main events in track were hurdles and pole vault my freshman and sophomore year. The summer after my sophomore year I competed in my first decathlon and I made it to the USATF national junior Olympics where I won the 15 16 year old boys age group. After that, I believe now that I am a decathlete and that is what I would like to do in college. I was not associated with a club and therefore didn't get much training throughout the summer. I feel like with more training I have even more potential. As to my character, I excel in other areas outside of athletics as well. I am currently enrolled in the Running Start program which is a program where I can attend college while in still in high school to obtain an AA degree. Also, I am working on getting my Eagle Scout and am very active in my church. I also play football, our team won State last year (I'm on special teams, play tight end and corner back). I also love to snowboard and enjoy non-traditional sports. I would be a good asset to any track team. I get along well with others and am very coachable. I am very excited to be a decathlete! When I was competing in my first few decathlons I was using only 3 different pairs of shoes for all of the events. Right after I came home from winning Nationals I bought all the rest of the necessary shoes for each event.
