Hi, my name is Tyler Birkel, I am a junior at Shorewood High School, class of 2026' and I participate in Track and Travel Baseball in the summer. As a child athlete, I realized early on that I was faster than most of my teammates. This realization led me to focus my athleticism on track and field. I've been on the varsity track team since I was a freshman running in many single and relay races. As a sophomore, I decided to try long jump and quickly realized this was another area of strength for me. I am now in my junior year and qualified for indoor state for the 60 and long jump. My long jump PR is currently a 21’2 and my 200 is currently a 23.53. I am also dedicated to my AAU track club team and the coaches who have trained me to excel in my events. I give my best effort in everything I do pushing myself both in the classroom and on the track. Balancing track and my studies has taught me to be organized, and manage my time and focus while maintaining a good GPA. I'm excited to keep improving and bring my dedication to the next level to become a better track athlete with hopes of competing at a collegiate level.
