Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Kenneth Carl Alas and I have been playing volleyball for 7 years now. I have been thriving to be the best I could ever since I started playing in 5th grade. Playing past high school at a college level would be an opportunity I would never pass.The sport basically consumed my life as I would find ways to play like at open gyms, co-ed tournaments, and beach volleyball scrimmages. My family does not make a lot and I have a sister that we also provide for, so playing club is a rare chance for me to do. So when I do not play club, I try to train on my own by conditioning myself and practicing in open gyms.
My skills over time has improved like my form, my jump serve, and my volleyball IQ. I help keep my teams head up when we're down and keep motivating them to do better when they mess up. I am very disciplined and I am a fast learner. If there is something I need to fix, I will take the time to practice to get rid of bad habits.
In school, I am a rigorous learner with a high GPA and I strive to be the best I could be. I always realize school is number one and it will always be my priority. A college that will provide a good education and a good volleyball program will ensure a bright future for me. I hope you can consider me, thank you.

- For the past five years before club season, I could not afford to play club volleyball, so I would take the opportunity to go to every single open gym I could to train myself for season. I would also set up a net in my front yard and practice my hitting constantly which prepared me to play OH which is not my normal position. I would also play a lot of beach volleyball with my other teammates as much as I could to help my endurance.
