Andrew Kelleher '23 Recruiting Profile

My position is Center Guard for my Varsity team at Laguna Beach High School and Club Team, SET in Orange County California. My passion for waterpolo began as an 8 years old in a carpool of kids on my block. I love and appreciate this close-knit polo community of friends and family that helps me better myself physically and mentally. 

I am dedicated to the development of the whole person approach – from academics,  athletics to my personal goal and interests. I am a scholar-athlete with above 4.2 GPA in Sophomore and Junior years, an Eagle Scout, and a leader as the ASB President in my high school. During the summers, I work as a lifeguard in our main beach in Laguna and when able, I intern at the Ruth Gingburg Scholarship as a media personnel.  My goal is to continue to grow as an individual while acquiring a high-level of education, balancing athletics, and embracing the student life and culture. I believe I would make a great addition to your team and academic institution.

In tournaments, I am strategic in my approach to analyzing gameplay and able to think steps ahead when executing a play and distributing the ball across the entire pool. I am coachable and consistently demonstrate my eagerness to learn and improve in any way that will benefit my teammates.  Around the pool I’m known as the gentle giant - a big aggressively driven team player who plays to the strategy and positively adds to my team’s advantage.
