Water polo is my life! My passion for water polo is unmatched. I have been playing year-round since I was 8 or 9 years old. In 8th grade, I was selected as a 2020-21 Pacific Southwest Zone - Olympic Development Program Cadet Team Alternate. I continued playing club polo and then started my high school water polo career.
My dedication to the sport has paid off. As a freshman, I was a Varsity starter for my high school team, selected as an NCC All Valley League Team Honorable Mention, and a starter for my club A team. As a sophomore, I was named NCC All Valley League 2nd Team and we won our SDS CIF DIII championship for only the 2nd time in our school's history. I was the leading scorer, assister, and stealer for the season, including our quarterfinal, semifinal, and final championship games! We went on to play in our first-ever state regional championship game, where we lost by only 1 point!
I am one of the hardest working athletes, both in the pool, and in the classroom. I am a humble team player who loves giving the assists just as much as I love making the goals myself. I do whatever is needed for the team to succeed, always putting the team's success above my own.
What truly distinguishes me from every other player is my game sense. Every coach tells me that I am the smartest player in the pool. I have the innate ability to "see" the pool and the game better than most players. I naturally anticipate plays, know where the ball needs to be, outsmart opponents, and make decisive moves. I'm always right where I need to be and know how to get the ball, or get it to someone who is in scoring position. One of my favorite things to do is steal the ball, and I do it... a LOT!
I am starting to build my stats and profile to hopefully be recruited to play in college when I graduate in 2025. Although I might not be as big as some of the guys out there, I definitely put in more effort and have had lots of success! My coach once told me that you have to have 2 of 3 things to be great in water polo: Skills, Speed, or Size. I definitely have the skills, smarts, and speed that have proven me to be a better player than most of the bigger guys. I'm never worried about guarding, defending, or stealing the ball from anyone, no matter their size.
What also sets me apart from other potential recruits is my ability to remain focused and composed under pressure and my well-rounded skillset. You can trust me to get the job done, whatever is needed. I understand that water polo is a physically and mentally demanding sport, and I am confident in my ability to stay mentally tough and maintain a positive attitude, even in the face of adversity. I am also highly coachable and always eager to learn new techniques and strategies that can help me improve my performance. I have the technical skills, physical fitness, game sense, mental toughness, teamwork skills, and coachability necessary to excel as an athlete and I can't wait to be a contributor on YOUR team!
