My name is Eric Bates. I am a 17 year old senior at Santana High School in Santee, California. I am 5'11" and weigh 155 pounds. I have a wingspan of 6'1'' and I have a long and accurate throw. I have been playing water polo since 8th grade. I have played for Sultan water Polo Club since age 14 and East County Aquatics Club last year. I am a very hard worker and never complain about going to practices. I show leadership skills in the pool and on the deck by clearing the pool of equipment or monitor the clocks for the other teams. I enjoy the challenge of balancing school and the sport of water polo along with going to Boy Scouts meetings and earning my Eagle Scout earlier this year. I continue to go to Scout meetings to help out the youth. I can see myself in a medium to large sized school-moderately to highly academic, either close to home or far away is fine. I'm open to new environments as long as I have the opportunity to play water polo at a competitive and challenging level. I would like to major in Engineering and I have an interest in Chemistry and Biology studies as well. I will probably applying for student loans depending on which school I am fortunate enough to attend. Water polo is a way of life for me, a job and a passion. It is the reason I am as disciplined, hardworking and determined as I am today
