My name is Jack Elder and I'm a goalie for both Las Lomas High School and Diablo 16U's A and Diablo's 18U A. I have played the sport of water polo for four years, all as a goalie, and continue to love the sport and my position every day at practice. My current goal in the pool is to become a D1 goalie and play the sport I love for as long as I can at a competitive level. I am also very education-driven. I'm at the end of my sophomore year holding a 4.0 GPA and plan to keep it up with two AP classes for my junior year. My current goal out of the pool is to become a business major or a real estate major depending on the school I attend. I am a coachable goalie and have good sportsmanship, this is key because having a level head and good sportsmanship is key as a goalkeeper as you need to keep a calm mental state to perform under pressure and minimize your mistakes. A part that comes with that is talking to your defense. Talking to your defense will allow your team to get an outside perspective on a mistake and how they too can minimize their mistakes. I also know that soaking in that feeling of making a mistake will only throw off your game so it is important to move on and improve along with that.
