I plan on pursing an undergraduate degree and public health and a Masters in Athletic Training. My hopes is that my love for sports will continue in my career after my own competitive softball career helping others with in their athletic journey through a sports medicine career. My hopes are that I will have the opportunity to compete in softball at the collegiate level and through that experience and love of the game, also gain insight into organization operations to obtain a future position as a team athletic trainer.
I was influenced to start playing softball at a high level when I was playing rec ball and after attending my first college softball game. I saw how much fun they were having during the game no matter the score. I told my dad I wanted to be like them and he told me all benefits and things I get from the process of learning to play the game and playing in college, but he also said that's its a lot of work and only the best get that opportunity. I was so excited to know I might have a chance to do that one day if I stayed disciplined and driven, so I got to work to make that happen.
From working hard to reach my goals and being around others with the same goals, I have learned a lot about myself, others and hard work. I have learned through my practices and games that I always try my best, no matter the score, how hot it was or how tired I was. To always dive for every ball I could and give max effort. I always try to pick up my teammates if they made a mistake and cheer for everyone. Even if we did not win or I would make errors, I would always know that I gave max effort and did everything I could for my team.
It is this learned drive and dedication that I feel will make me stand out from the rest. I may not always be the strongest or fastest, but I refuse to allow anyone to out work me. I have learned that with consistent hard work, I can accomplish any goal and hope that this influence has a positive impact on not only myself but my team. This is why I think I would make a difference from other recruits, and be a great addition to your team.
