My name is Haylee Cathcart, I am a 5'4 second-basemen from Kahalu'u Hawaii. I can also play catcher or shortstop. I graduate in the class of 2022 and play on the varsity team at Maryknoll High school.
This summer was by far the best I’ve had. I was able to play with a great group of girls in Oregon, Colorado and California. We were away from home for about a month and a half. This experience has allowed me to grow as a player and as a person. I have learned to deal with adversity and failure. At the same time, I have learned that dedication and hard work pays off. Most importantly, this game has given me lifelong friends and memories that I will forever cherish.
I would love to continue to play softball in college. I would like to pursue a career in either Physical Therapy or Exercise Science. At a young age, I began watching and participating in sports. As I got older, I realized that there is a lot that happens behind the scenes, such as trainers and doctors. I want to become familiar with these fields so I am able to help other athletes and people in general, be healthy and active in life.
Outside of softball, the most important to me, is to help my parents in any way possible. I work very hard in school to keep my grades up and some community services I participate in is beach clean ups, and donating to the homeless.
I am a true team player. I love to encourage and push my teammates. I work very hard every day to become better at the game. I work out and hit on my own so that I can push myself harder. I am able to pick myself and others up when we are down. To me, if everyone plays together and backs each other up, the team will be unstoppable.
