Personal Statement
Swimming has always been a big part of my life. I’ve been through many sports growing up, but swimming has always stuck with me. I was introduced to competitive swimming when I was five years old. Ever since I started my journey in swimming, my goal has always been to swim at a collegiate level. I work hard year-round in my swimming career, swimming for Kamehameha Swim Club and Punahou School’s ILH (Interscholastic League of Honolulu) Varsity team for the first time, as a freshman qualifying, competing, placing, and winning the State Championship, as acquiring extra help and training outside of the pool.
I would like to swim at the collegiate level. I am currently working towards achieving more junior national cuts. Throughout my swimming career, my strengths have evolved and changed throughout the seasons, currently, my best strokes are sprint free, fly, and backstroke. I am excited to see what I can improve on in my other events as well.
When I am not training, I am either at the beach, hanging out with friends, or studying. I like to keep a healthy balance between my priorities in life. I believe that having a good balance in life keeps me grounded and motivates me to live a more healthy and harmonized lifestyle that benefits my well-being.
