I started softball at an extremely young age because my family is a baseball and softball type of family. Although, I didn’t join a team until I was at least eight years old. Since I only joined travel four years ago, in recreational softball I would play in an age group above the one I was supposed to be in. I liked to be challenged and I didn’t find my age group competitive enough. Over the years, I experienced some personal complications that definitely took a toll on my life as well as my family and friends. Through this obstacle in my life, I matured and learned to live life one day at a time and see positives in everything no matter the circumstances.
Through my sports, especially softball, I obtained the ability to notice my own mistakes and not let them tear me down, but instead to slowly adjust. For the rest of my high school years, I want to put myself up to the test and keep being a multi-sport athlete while still being an honor roll student. As for college, I would rather stick to softball and put all my hard work in that and studying climatology and weather.
I definitely had to overcome some obstacles to get to where I am, but it was worth it because I know that everything I have done, I earned and nobody had to give it to me.
