Addisyn Sabatino '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been in competitive sports since the first grade.  Starting with gymnastics, recreational soccer, volleyball, basketball and softball. Softball has always been my favorite sport.  In his youth,  my dad was a travel A baseball pitcher in Philadelphia and is now our 8th grade middle school coach as well as the president of our local youth sports program.  He has taught me a lot about the game and I have learned that giving up is never an option.  I currently play 14U travel softball for the Iowa Blitz out of Des Moines, Iowa.  I made my first tryout session at 11 years old for an Iowa Blitz 12UB team and have since played pitcher and rotational shortstop and second base.  All of my coaches have consistently said that I am very coachable and my positive attitude makes me a true team player.  My parents tell me that attitude and self confidence are half the battle to being successful on and off the field. 

It has been a life long dream to start on my varsity high school team and to go on to play at the college level.  After high school, I am looking into entering a ROTC program with aspirations to graduate and join the military as an officer candidate and possibly pursue a degree in Architecture.  My mom is a middle school teacher in Ankeny, Iowa with a masters degree in education and second language acquisition.  She has consistently instilled in me, a growth mindset when it comes to education.  My grades have always been extremely important to me and my parents and will always remain one my top priorities.

When Covid hit, all of my sports were shut down.  It was disappointing to not be able participate.  However, I was able to work with my dad on developing more skills and take full advantage of bettering my softball skills and my mental game. I know I would be great addition to your softball team.
