I have grown up around athletics my whole life. I come from a family of athletes and coaches. It just seems like my family and extended families share a love for athletics. The older I get the more I find that being on the field is where I have found my passion! I love it and have been fortunate to find a lot of success.
Sports have not only given me a hobby and something I love to do, but they have given me amazing friends. I love being part of a team and my teammates will become a forever part of my life.
Sports have made me a better person and helped to develop skills that I don't know if I would have otherwise. I've had to develop great time management, learn how to set good goals, understand what a great teammate really is, perform under pressure, be gritty, deal with failure and how to condition and take care of my body. I have read Mind Gym, Grit and Mindset and find the mental side of sports fascinating.
I am 16 years old and I really have loved my whole high school HS experience. Some of the highlights for me were being on a softball team that played for a State Championship, starting and being a leader on the JV basketball team and competing for my HS track team in the shot put and discus. I finished the year placing 2nd in the state track meet (best throw 41.1) in the shot and being named an all-city athlete and winning the "Freshman Female Athlete of the year" at Lincoln Southwest at the All-Sports banquet. I do feel like softball is what I love the most and what I am best at, but I take pride in being a 3 sport athlete.
I like school and did well finishing with straight A's and a 4.0 GPA. I am hoping to someday have the opportunity to be a dentist or orthodontist.
Like I said before, sports are my favorite thing to do, but also have really enjoyed being part of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Young Life and youth group at my church. My faith is very important to me and feel like I am blessed in many ways.
