Hello! My name is Sophia Hudec and I'm a sophomore (Class of 2024) at Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill, NJ. I've been playing softball for almost 10 years now, since I was six. I started off playing right field and gradually became a middle infielder over the years. My primary positions are shortstop and second base with outfield as my secondary.
I am both a high-achieving athlete and student. I have a strong work ethic and give it my all in not only softball but in school as well. When it comes to college, my education is very important to me. I take a variety of honors/AP classes and am dedicated to everything I do. I'm determined to succeed and play softball at the collegiate level.
In my freshman year, I was a starting second baseman for my school's varsity softball team. I soon took over the shortstop position mid-season and got selected to play for the 2021 Softball Carpenter Cup in the Olympic Colonial Conference at FDR Park in Philadelphia, PA. I have since then been the starting shortstop for the 2022 season and selected to play again for this year's Carpenter Cup.
I consider myself a very coachable player. I'm always looking to get better and put in work where it's needed. I currently play for Thunder 18u Showcase - Cipolla, a tournament travel team, participating in college showcases up & down the East Coast. I have been spending the past months with personal trainers every week improving my hitting, speed/agility, strength/conditioning, and fielding.
I am driven, persistent, and I never quit. I go out there with a positive mindset and leave it all on the field.
