Hi all! My name is Tyler Cooke and I am currently a Junior at the Burlington County Institute of Technology in Medford, NJ but BCIT is a lot easier to say. Since I was young, I enjoyed sketching and drawing and over time my skills and attention to detail got better and better and it was something that I developed a passion for. As a result, I have decided on pursuing Architecture for my college career and have maintained straight A's with both principal and honor roll since my Freshman year. When it comes to softball, I began playing when I was 7 years old and I just sort of fell in love with it and have been playing ever since. Just like my drawing, I have felt a passion for the game, the comradery, the competition, etc. ever since and I have continued to hone my skills and my overall game ever since. I believe myself to be a good individual player, a good team player, I am versatile in several positions, and I was named as one of the team captains on my high school team this season. Whether it is high school or my travel team, I make it a priority to play hard for myself as well as my team, boost the team's confidence even if we are not doing well as a whole, but I also place focus on having fun because at the end of the day, having fun doing anything is one of the things that makes it worthwhile. In regards to the positions I play, they include third base, short stop, catcher, and first base though I have to say that first base has become my favorite and primary starting position that I would very much like to pursue further throughout my sports career. In the end, do I feel as though I am different from any other player and/or student? In a way I say yes as I am able to focus on both maintaining my grades (4.0+) as well as softball throughout the year which I feel not everyone can do. Do I feel as though I am better than others I may be up against? Honestly, that's not who I am to compare myself to others. I focus on being me, I put the time and effort in to do my best when it comes to my passions, and try to enjoy life to the best of my ability. Anything more, you'll have to see for yourself.
