Taylor Maher '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Taylor Maher. I attend Piscataway High School as a Senior. I graduate in 2019. As a freshman, I made my varsity softball team as a DH. My sophomore year I was named the official starting 1st baseman.  My junior season I made all red division. I throw right handed and bat left handed. I also play 3rd base but more for my travel softball team than for my school team. 

The travel team I play for is the Top Gun Elite 18u. I play for head coach Bill Fricke. This is my first year playing for Top Gun.  For my past teams, I’ve played for the Edison Angels for at least five years. I’ve played there since 12u, except in the summer of 2017, the 16u team I was on folded so I joined the Jersey Shore Barracudas. Then I returned to the Edison Angels. Now I am on Top Gun Elite.

I started my softball career when I started playing baseball when I was 8. My baseball career ended when I was 13. I made the middle school softball team when I was in 6th grade. 

I also play basketball. I played for the jv team for most of the season and I played a few games with varsity at the end of the season. I plan to make full varsity next season. I like playing basketball because it helps me stay in shape when I am not playing softball. I played in a summer league team for my high school basketball team and we did good.

I want to go to college to become a P.E. teacher and to coach a school team in the future.
