Personal Statement
I have been fortunate enough to play softball with some very talented and passionate players. Every single person and teammate I have had the privilege to play with has pushed me and made me excel mentally and physically . 2015 was a defining team year in which I realized that all my hard work was starting to pay off so that I could be a better teammate. Not only was I the lead off pitcher and 1st base for my highly competitive Middle School team, pitcher and 1st base on my travel ball team, but was chosen as the lead off pitcher on the Rowan County Little League team which went on to win the World Series in Portland, Oregon. 2015 confirmed that perseverance, practice, teamwork, dedication, and passion fuels my fire for success in all the aspects of my life from softball to school.
I have also always been very focused on school. When in session, my school nights consist of staying on top of a fast paced honors/AP curriculum. This has helped me learn to appreciate group study and ask for help when needed. I have received the principals cabinet every quarter and have been selected for the Duke Tip program. My work ethic and sports ethic come down to hard work mentally and physically always pushing myself to get better and making sure I learn from any and all mistakes.
In my spare time I love volunteering with my local Rotary Group which I have done since the age of 4 and am a honorary member and Paul Harris Fellow. Volunteering has not only allowed me to make strong bonds with people in my community but has also given me a strong love for helping others.
