Hi, my name is Alexis Croatt, and I am a 2024 HS graduate. I am a hardworking softball player on the softball diamond and am a good student in the classroom. I have always loved to play sports, as I have played many different sports since I was very young. For all 3 years of middle school I played softball and basketball, and started playing tennis in eighth grade. While in eighth grade, I earned the Platinum Award, for student athletes who played three school sports and got straight A’s all year. In my freshman year, I played tennis and golf, and I was the MVP for the women's golf team. During that year, there were too few players for both a basketball team and a softball team, so I was manager for the MS basketball team, and helped with the MS softball team's practices. In my Sophomore and Junior years, I was on the varsity golf, basketball, and softball teams. I have been MVP for golf and softball, Offensive player of the year for softball, and earned the pride award in basketball, while also making all-conference in both golf and softball in my Sophomore and Junior years. As a Junior I was chosen as the Conference Player of the Year. In my Sophomore year, the softball team won our conference and went two rounds into the State playoffs and in my Junior year we went one round into the State playoffs. Softball has helped me grow out of my shell and become more confident as an athlete. I have become more of a leader in life, because of the leadership skills learned through softball.
Aside from sports, I have done many different clubs and after school activities. I had been doing Battle of the Books for 6 years, had participated in Science Olympiad for 4 years, and have taken Band from the beginning of middle school to now, playing the French Horn. When COVID hit, the softball season had just started, and the Science Olympiad and Battle of the Books teams were both moving on into the State competitions. It was very upsetting, but the next year, my freshman year, I was able to continue with Science Olympiad and start new in HS. In school, I have always been a good student. I have been an A Honor Roll student through my Sophomore year and have a 4.45 weighted GPA. In both my Freshman and Sophomore years, I was ranked first in my class. After HS, I hope to be a student-athlete and participate in college softball. I want to continue to push myself, both academically and athletically, so that I become a better player and a better student. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.
