Softball became part of my life when I was in third grade. I remember the first time my mom asked me to play softball, I thought it was volleyball. At first it was just something fun for me to get my energy out. When I was in seventh grade I was offered a spot on a travel team. I remember being so ecstatic. From then on I always thought about going to the next level. When I was a freshman, trying out for my sophomore season, I got hit in the face with a softball. Long story short, I ended up with my face fractured and a concussion. During the six months that I wasn’t able to play, I was very frustrated, but I went to every single practice my team held and tried to go to as many tournaments as I could. I couldn’t ever imagine my life without softball.
Softball has taught me that everything I do is mental. If I think that I can do something, then it is achievable. This applies to my school work as well. Academically, my goal is to do the best I can. In college, I want to get my bachelors in exercise science or kinesiology.
