Personal Statement
I started playing softball around the age of five and I am still playing as a sophomore, and was a freshman starter for my high school. Before I went to play on my current travel team (NJ Cheetahs), I was coached by my best friend's father. He encouraged me to take risks and try new positions that I was not comfortable with, and I believe that he was an enormous role model that got me to where I am today. Throughout my softball career, I have learned that I am one who takes control of the field by always talking and boosting my other teammates when we are down a run or when the game becomes so heated that we each have to remind ourselves to remain calm and trust that we know what to do when the ball is hit to us.
My plans for college are to find the right fit for me; the campus, my major, the coach, and the team. Like my high school, I am looking for a college that I can call home and be proud to wear their logo no matter where I go in my life. Academically, I strive for high grades, meaning that I am not afraid to ask my teachers for help when I need it. Personally speaking, I believe that I am a bubbly person as I am told that I smile in whatever I do, but I can also become very serious when it is time to "get down to business." I know that in the game of softball we never stop learning, and I regard myself as always taking in new skills to prepare myself for the next game. If you are looking for a recruit that strives in academics, is a team leader, takes in all skills/tips, and loves teamwork and the game itself; then I am the recruit for you.
