Olivia Reames '17 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing the sport I love for 10 years.  I started on a rec team where I fell in love with the game at the age of 5.  I was behind the plate from the start.  My strength is in leadership, and I have a great relationship with all of my pitchers.  I have been told that I am nurturing, positive, and supportive when they are struggling.  I have been thanked for that on many occasions.

I joined my first select/travel team at age 7.  I stayed with that team until they disbanded when I was 12.  Since then I have joined Texas Elite, the second of the two organizations I've dedicated myself to.  From a young age, my mom has taught me about loyalty and commitment, and about finishing what you start.  I am a leader, but first and foremost, I am a teammate.

I aspire to play collegiate softball at a school that offers an engineering program.  I plan to major in biomedical engineering, and go on to design prosthetics.  From a young age, I have always known that I would pursue a career that focused on helping people.  I feel that that is my calling. I work hard in the classroom, taking an all AP core,  and have always maintained a high GPA, and top 2% in class rank at a large 6A school.  I know that nothing worth having comes easy.

I am and have always been a hard, dedicated worker, on and off the field.  I understand discipline and how important it is to be coachable.   I couldn't imagine not playing softball after high school.  It's a big part of who I am and how I've grown up.
