My name is Emily Lyons and I look forward to continuing my softball career through college. My main interest for my major is Business but not very specific on which type yet. I want to go to a good school that has a fantastic education available, and a great softball program. What I look for in a softball program is a highly competitive team, that values working together as a team. I want to be on a team with energy and that has the same amount of passion and drive for the sport as I have. After winning the Texas State 12U Championship for my all-star team, I have dreamed of playing softball in college.
Softball has taught me confidence, teamwork, sacrifice, and overcoming hardships. I love pumping girls up, picking them up when they are struggling, and even giving pep talks. Not only do I always try my hardest on the field, but in the classroom as well. Because of my advanced understanding of the game, I feel I am a step ahead of the curve in terms of being a student-athlete. Keeping a good balance of my grades while getting better at softball is very important to me. My goal is to graduate high school in the top 10 percent of my 2020 class, finishing all Advanced Placement courses and graduate college with a Bachelors degree. I will always strive to get better and to be the best player and student I can be. As a three-sport athlete, having competed in softball, track, and volleyball, I believe that I have the talent and the high work ethic to play softball at the college level, and to succeed in life.
