Ivy Westermann '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ivy Westermann. I am a sophomore at Mt. Spokane High School, located in Spokane, WA. Softball is a huge part of my life and it is my dream to play at the next level. I started playing when I was nine years old and I have been on the same team, PNW Scream, all these years. My club team has become a second family to me and I realize having a close knit group supporting each other is something I want to foster on every team I am on. I am lucky to have both slowpitch and fastpitch softball at my high school, where I am a 2-year letter earner for slowpitch in the fall and last year as a freshman, I was pulled up to the Varsity team for the fastpitch state tournament. Some characteristics I value within myself that I believe make me a great softball player and teammate are: I am determined, coachable, encouraging, and utilize goofiness to lift up those around me. In regards to where I want to go to school, I am willing and eager to go wherever as I consider this an opportunity to expand my horizons, gain invaluable experiences, and obtain a quality education. I am a 3.7 student and a hard worker on and off the field. It is my goal to obtain a degree in psychology and go on to become a sports psychologist, where I will be able to help athletes overcome difficult situations that sports create. Seeing my teammate overcome her sports anxiety with the help of a psychologist, I want to help and encourage athletes just like her.
