My name is Alli Swearengin and I am currently a sophomore at Taft Union High School. I am 5'9 and have maintained a 4.0 GPA while taking honors classes as well as college courses. In addition I am a part of our AVID program and Oil Tech which is a Lighthouse pathway with an emphasis on career and college readiness. I am a well rounded student athlete having completed two seasons of JV volleyball as the starting outside hitter and Captain. In addition, I was the starting small forward on the varsity basketball team. I moved into the guard spots as needed and became the leading defensive rebounder. I maintained my status as the top defensive rebounder and was consistently in the top four scorers with an average of 8 points per game. Currently, while still training to hone my basketball skills I am starting my second season on the varsity swim team. I am the Soohomlore Class Secretary and active in student leadership while also becoming involved in the Soroptimist International Club. I spend my free time balancing training to improve my skills, spending time with family and being involved within my community.
What sets me apart from other athletes at my age is my work ethic and drive. I am coachable and consistently strive for improvement and growth.
I aspire to enter the medical field but as I research, I find that career opportunities available within the Federal Bureau of Investigation has piqued my interest as well. I am still discovering my passion but I know that I am open to schools both large and small. I know that I will be an asset to any program that I am a part of.
This is just the beginning of my story so I hope you come back to see my growth.
