I have always loved basketball ever since I was little. I started playing in elementary school, but as the years went on, I wasn’t getting as much playing time as I wanted. I decided that I needed to practice and train and push myself everyday to become better. My hard work finally paid off in high school. I was named team captain my freshman and sophomore years and more importantly, led my team to back-to-back conference championships.
My time in the gym and on the court taught me that dedication and hard work is needed to achieve any goal, and that there are no shortcuts to success. I also run track which helps me become a more well-rounded athlete. Not only do I excel in athletics, but in academics as well. By taking all honors and AP courses, I challenge myself everyday and am constantly pushing the limits of what I can achieve. My goal is to bring my strong work ethic, teamwork, and leadership skills to my college career while still achieving academic success.
