My name is Brianna Soto, I am a hard-working student-athlete going into my Junior year at Bridgewater-Raritan High School in Bridgewater, New Jersey. In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA as I strive to be my best because I want to set a good example on and off the court. I feel that the combination of Academics and Sports gives me the knowledge and skills to be focused, manage my time, set goals, be committed, and be a team leader. I am looking forward to finding a college that best fits my academic and athletic aspirations.
I have played basketball since I was five years old starting out with the Bridgewater in Town Travel team and our church (CYO - Christian Youth Organization). At this young age when I first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. I know that playing in college is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could change my future. I also play with the 18U in town Travel Softball team (1st Baseman) where we have won many tournaments against club teams.
I work hard year-round on my basketball skills, participating on the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Varsity Team. Our High School plays in the Skyland Conference of New Jersey and this conference is ranked as one of the toughest conferences. I also participate on the Bridgewater-Raritan Varsity Softball team. I enjoy working out hard to improve my skills and lifting in the weight room, which adds to my strength and athleticism.
My AAU United Basketball Team plays at the 16U Gold level, and we travel all around the country to tournaments like the Nike Nationals, Boo Williams in Virginia, Nike in Washington DC, Nike Showcase in Chicago, and Run for the Roses in Louisville.
I have strong post and power forward moves with ball-handling skills, strong physical defense, mental toughness, and a high basketball IQ. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates to be positive and energetic. I am very coachable and assist my coach with leading practices and coaching other teammates to strive to be the best. I am one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you will find.
I have set a goal to play Collegiate basketball and I am working on my academics and basketball game to meet that goal. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers, in my community and make my mom and my family proud. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
