I am a disciplined student and am dedicated to doing my best. This past summer (2015), I worked with a personal trainer and played AAU. I have worked harder to improve my game than I ever have before. This is because I realized that playing basketball in college was something I had to do. I take practice seriously and use it everyday to get better. Right now, I am one of the top players in my conference; but, it is my goal to be the top player. Unlike other players, my team and I have had a huge disadvantage over the years. My sophomore year, we were a brand new high school and had only freshmen and sophomore classes. As underclassmen competing on a varsity level, we finished dead last in the conference with a record of 2-16. With each following year, another class was added. In the 2014-2015 season, we improved to 12-12 and are now predicted to be in the top three of our conference in the upcoming season. This disadvantage of being a new school has actually been our advantage. We know what it feels like to lose and our passion to win has grown even stronger. We are looking to win conference and hopefully go far in playoffs. I plan to play a big role in this as a leader and a captain.
