Playing basketball has helped me improve my motor skills, coordination, and endurance. When I have the basketball in my hands, I am in charge of it and control the tempo of the game. Playing basketball gives me a thrill, which I channel into, as I run up and down the court, playing my role efficiently, as well as urging my team using my speed and strength to steal, get rebounds and pass. Personally, I believe good teamwork exhibits trust, team improvement and motivation. A team should encourage and support each member, but also be willing to defend each other. As a student leader, I have learned the importance of communication, which is necessary for team work to succeed, applying my social skills and encouraging everyone despite the results of a game. Playing basketball has helped me realize that there is more to winning, and that each game is an opportunity to learn and improve. Each time I step on the court, I give it my all which includes shooting and making baskets, guarding and assisting my team members. Using the skills I learned from playing various sports growing up, I am an asset to my team and contribute to our overall success. I am usually the player with the most time spent on the court because of the confidence my coaches have in me as well as my uplifting and energizing attitude. I am fast, agile and can quickly bring the ball down the court. I am very disciplined, a hard worker and a leader in both sports and academics.
